Red Team:
This is a note of thanks for all of the support as we finished the 2019-2020 school year. We had to “build the airplane while flying it.” I am extremely proud of the entire HISD community as we lived a “new way for a new day.”
The purpose of this letter is to provide an update and reassure our stakeholders that we are more committed than ever to providing a first-rate education to our students. The 2020-2021 school year will begin soon. HISD has no plans to change the start date for the coming school year. We are set to begin on August 13th with students.
We are monitoring correspondence daily from our state agencies and hope we will receive guidance for “reopening” schools. We are planning for the countless realities associated with school operations for the coming school year, but our state agencies must provide the “game plan” to allow HISD to develop our plan.
Our #1 goal is to protect our students, teachers, administrators and staff. We look forward to receiving the guidance so HISD can determine how to implement these considerations while adjusting to meet the unique needs and circumstances of our community. Our implementation will be guided by what is feasible, practical, acceptable and tailored to the needs of Huntington ISD.
We will communicate updated information as we receive it and share the plans as we begin the 2020-2021 school year.
Thanks for your continued support. It’s a great time to be a Red Devil.
OUR Relentless Pursuit To Get Better.
